Over the summer I (Bill) built a new high performance Small Form Factor computer, based on the new Intel Core i7 920 chip to replace our old Pentium 4 system on board Raptor Dance. I found the build experience to be pretty trivial. I wrote up my experience on Epinions. You can read my article here.
Since I built this puppy, I'm totally blown away by how fast she is. I just remember back to some of my first computers I worked on and how much faster this one is than the first Supercomputer I played with, the IBM 360/91 at UCLA's Campus Computing Network back in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
